Fractal Black Archives — Pandemic Projects
IAt the start of the pandemic, I created blackgirlrising.la, an Instagram page and weekly newsletter. While the page is not active, you can visit it here. The newsletter highlighted virtual events held by Black and Brown LA-based creators. The purpose was to leverage technology to help Angelenos feel more connected digitally. You can read examples here Black Girl Rising Example #1 and here Black Girl Rising Example #2 .
One of the guiding ideas behind the newsletter and instagram page was to not recreate the wheel, but to highlight for folks the good work being done locally. It was also an attempt to keep an archive of Black and Brown healing work during the pandemic.
